KAA 5th Soirée Raffle Ticket Purchases

For the first time, we’ll be opening up the purchase of raffle tickets for a few items that we’ll be raffling off at our 5th Soirée.

The first item is a Fender Squier Limited Edition Bullet Stratocaster SSS in sparkle red that was graciously donated by Gerald Ishibashi and signed by the Cambodian Rock Band South Coast Repertory cast, Brooke Ishibashi, Abraham Kim, Raymond Lee, Jane Lui, Joseph Ngo and Daisuke Tsuji.

Raffle tickets can be purchased through Paypal or Venmo.

Ticket prices are as follows.

1 Ticket – $1.00
7 Tickets – $5.00
20 Tickets – $15.00

Send Paypal payments to khmeralumni@gmail.com. Our Venmo username is @khmeralumni. Add in the notes/What’s it for? section your contact information (name, phone number, email and shipping address) and the item you want your tickets to go towards and how many.

Khmer Alumni Association is proud to be hosting its 5th Soirée: “Passports to the World.” We will be honoring our special guests including our 2019 Student Scholarship and Leadership Award winners, KAA Mentorship Program program participants and volunteers.

Please join us for specially prepared appetizers by Chef Maurice Yim, owner of PowWow Pizza Company, home of the Angkor Pizza, dinner by Chef Allen Prom, owner of Yeak Inc.‘s Cambodian American hot sauces aaand Chef Jaymes Bunchean who will handcrafting us a traditional Cambodian dessert.

Doors open at 4 PM, program starts at 5 PM. Come early for some photobooth fun! Formal traditional Khmer attired is optional but recommended!

Payments can also be sent through Venmo, @KhmerAlumni (please be sure to include the first name and last name of all guests and an email for us to forward you your tickets).

Proceeds from ticket sales and donations go towards funding Khmer Alumni community events and programs (KHG5 is coming up soon November 9th so save the date!).

Apply to be a Khmer Alumni Association Mentorship Program Mentor!

Khmer Alumni Association is currently recruiting mentors for our KAA Mentorship Program, KAAMP. The purpose of KAAMP is to provide one-on-one guidance and support for Cambodian students. By doing so, the Khmer Alumni Association aims to promote enriching knowledge, professional development and meaningful experiences through relationships that will help empower Cambodian students to work successfully towards their academic, career and personal goals.

We’ve extended deadline to Sunday, May 5, 2019 11:59 pm. If you know of any students who could  benefit from the program the link to the mentee application is also included below.

KAA 2018-2019 Leadership Award

Established in 2017 the KAA Leadership Award aims to recognize a student who has made significant contributions to the Cambodian community through their leadership and participation in campus programs, organizations and activities. The top applicant will receive a non-renewable $500 award and KAA pin.

The deadline to apply is Friday, May 31, 2019 at 5 pm.
