WHAT’S A SOIREE?! 

A festive evening of celebrations hosted by Khmer Alumni Association. We will have our 2nd Annual Soiree commemorating our events and honoring special guests throughout the year including our scholarship recipients. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations will help support all our program and events including our scholarship and mentorship program.We appreciate your continuous support and contributions in any amount!

WILL THERE BE FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT?!

Enjoy specially prepared appetizers by Chef Chad of Cambodian Cuisine, dinner by Chef Allen of Yeak Inc., custom-made desserts by A Lovely Plan, beverages, photobooth souvenirs by Hengitup Photography, live performances and musical entertainment provided by DJ TristDaFist to groove the night away! We will also be selling raffle tickets for many special prizes throughout the night!

What is KAAfe Talks?
KAAfe Talks is a series of motivating and inspiring conversations between all members of the Cambodian American community. These conversations are meant to raise awareness about important issues, facilitate the spread of ideas, and to encourage and support one another in actualizing our own personal goals.

OVERVIEW

The purpose of the KAA Scholarship award is to assist local Cambodian students in the Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) who are pursuing higher education through an accredited community college, vocational/trade school, or university either as a part-time or full-time student.

Award

Two students will be selected for the following:

1) $250 non-renewable scholarship
2) 2 years of private academic, career, and personal counseling provided by professionally trained and licensed school counselors.

Eligibility

– Child of at least one Cambodian parent
– 2.5 minimum cumulative academic GPA
– Enrolled in the 12th grade in LBUSD
– Attending either an accredited community college, vocational/trade school, or university in the fall
– Demonstrate financial need

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Entire application must be submitted by MARCH 30, 2015 and includes the following:
– Character evaluation forms (2)
– Responses to supplemental questions
– Transcript (please email 1 copy to khmeralumni@gmail.com)

Khmer Hungry Games II

Join us Saturday, September 27, 2014 for KAA 2nd annual Cook-Off: Chea Plung (Catching Fire) from 11am- 4pm. Our theme for this year’s event is FUSION!

Come support contestants and their wonderful dish creations. We will have challenging games that will put your skills to the test and various prizes. You won’t want to miss out.

Want to challenge your culinary skill?

Come as a contender. Bring your specialty dish to knock-out the competition.

Fusion dishes presented in first round only has two criteria:
One Cambodian ingredient
One non-Cambodian ingredient 

Top 3 dishes (selected by attendees) will proceed to the grilling round where mystery ingredients will be revealed.
