The Khmer Alumni Assoiciation is proudly hosting its 4th Annual Soirée on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 6:00-9:30 pm at the Sierra Room at Mayfair Park in Lakewood, CA. We chose this year’s theme, “Uniting the Present to Build the Future” because this is essentially the core mission of every event and program that we host from our KAAfe Talks, the Khmer Hungry Games, KAAMP and our scholarships.

The purpose of the Soirée is to look back this year and honor our scholarship recipients, mentorship program participants, supporters and volunteers. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations go towards our community events and programs.

Please join us as we enjoy specially prepared appetizers, beverages and dinner by Chef Maurice Yim of Le Awe Catering Company and Chef T of The Federal Bar, photobooth souvenirs by Heng it Up Photography, live performances and musical entertainment Dj Hunny. Khmer Formal Attire encouraged!

Every week leading up to the event we’ll be posting details and updates about the event so be sure to mark that you’re going, interested or can’t go to stay updated on the event’s happenings.

Time: Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 6-9:30
Place: Sierra Room at Mayfair Park (5720 Clark Ave, Lakewood, CA 90712)

Apply to become a mentor!

Overview

The Khmer Alumni Association Mentorship Program (KAAMP) pairs up a high school or college student with a mentor for six months from January to June 2016. Throughout this relationship, mentoring will be provided via online at least once a month to discuss any questions, comments, or concerns regarding academics, career choices, or any life decisions.

Purpose

The purpose of KAA’s Mentorship Program (KAAMP) is to provide one-on-one guidance and support for students in the Cambodian American community. By doing so, KAA aims to promote enriching knowledge, professional development, experience and relationships that will help empower Cambodian students to succeed in their academic/career success, individual goals and lives thereafter.

Who are the mentors?

Mentors are members of the Khmer Alumni Association (KAA) who have applied and will be paired with a student based on the student’s interests and goals. They are college graduates with professional experience and the desire to help the next generation of Cambodian Americans.

Mentors will be notified a week prior if they are paired up with a mentee in KAAMP!
